For Owners
Allowing owners to generate income from their own camera equipment drives the success and continued use of our app. Shutter responds and takes advantage of the growing need and want for inexpensive rental or sharing services. We also strive to allot our owners the freedom to set the price of their camera equipment, as it develops a marketplace that is controlled and run by the users themselves. We have seen the success of business models such as Uber and Airbnb, and have decided to expand it to the world of photography and videography. The number of sharing economy users is projected to grow by 20.2 million people by the year 2021, further expanding the force that is becoming a major part of the global economy. The monetary value of this economy is also expected to expand to $335 billion by the year 2025. Shutter is joining an economy on the rise that has a high and increasing market value, especially for people who list their equipment on our app.
For Renters
The number one thing we want to do at Shutter is having the ability to provide people the access to camera equipment they can afford. In order to do this, we plan to set a price cap of $100/day to any listing of camera gear. The mobile platform and the creation of our app provides a simplistic and streamlined way to get the listed equipment into the hands of our users as quickly as possible. Once the rental has been confirmed, users will have the option of picking up their gear at a specific location, or receiving convenient shipping right to their home or place of work. The simplicity of a mobile app allows our users to have the best experience directly from the palm of their hands anywhere at any time.
